Features

The envelope, feature by feature.

Sign it here, seal it there, track it nowhere? Not anymore. Four stages, one record: send with controls, see the reads, run the room, and sign on the same file.

Secure send

The link does what email never could.

Every send is a managed link, not a loose attachment. Set the rules before it leaves. Watch it while it lives. Turn it off the moment you need to.

  • Password, expiry date, and view limits per link
  • Allowed and blocked emails or whole domains
  • Download, print, and copy controls with watermark modes
  • Revoke instantly; denied attempts are logged, not lost

Read proof

“Opened” is a rumor. This is a record.

Every viewer becomes a session: time on each page, return visits, completion, device, and region. You stop guessing what they read and start knowing.

  • Per-page dwell time and return visits
  • Verified viewer identity on gated links
  • Views over time, devices, and regions in the dashboard
  • On every plan, including Free

Dataroom

A data room that doesn't need a committee.

Folders, NDA gates, watermarks, per-item permissions, and in-room questions. The discipline of a data room at the weight of a link.

  • NDA acceptance recorded before the room opens
  • Per-item overrides: view-only financials, downloadable deck
  • Viewer questions land in one inbox, answered in-room
  • Room analytics: views, viewers, last access

File requests

Ask for files. They land in the folder.

Send a link that collects files instead of sending them. The other side uploads with no account, and every file drops straight into the folder you chose, attributed and timestamped.

  • Uploads land in the folder you picked, already sorted
  • Require the sender's email so every file has a name
  • Lock it with a passcode and an expiry date
  • Rate limited per sender and per link against abuse

Signatures

Ink lands on the file they already read.

Route signers in order or all at once. Identity is checked before fields unlock. Completion seals into a certificate anyone can verify, publicly, without an account.

  • Sequential, parallel, or mixed routing with roles: signer, approver, witness, CC
  • One-time email code before the document unlocks
  • 20+ field types: signature, initials, dates, dropdowns, attachments
  • Certificate of completion with document and audit-log hashes

Screenshot protection

Block the capture. Trace the leak.

Copy, save, and print shortcuts are blocked in the browser, and a Print Screen wipes the clipboard. The reader's name is burned into every page, and every attempt is logged with IP, region, and device hash.

  • Copy, Save, Print, and View Source shortcuts blocked in the viewer
  • Print Screen wipes the clipboard so the grab comes back blank (best effort)
  • The reader's name and a live timestamp burned into every page
  • Screenshot-attempt events in the audit trail with IP and device hash

Dynamic watermark

Every page knows who is reading it.

The watermark is not a logo. It is a receipt. Every page carries the verified viewer's identity and a live timestamp. Overlay it on the surface, or burn it into the PDF bytes so it survives prints and exports.

  • Per-viewer identity (verified email) on every page
  • Live timestamp ticks every minute; stale leaks look stale
  • Overlay mode floats on the viewer; burned mode stamps the PDF bytes
  • Works on share links, dataroom links, and signature envelopes

Smart reminders

The signature you forgot to chase.

Most sends do not stall on a no. They stall because nobody followed up. Mako watches who has not opened, writes a reminder in the document's own words, and sends it at a human hour.

  • Fires on real signals: never opened, who holds the queue, how long it has been
  • Mako writes each nudge in the document's context, not a canned please-sign
  • A time-sensitive expiry warning with the hours left and the consequence
  • Sent inside working hours, never at 3am, with one switch per envelope

Prepare

Templates with version history

Every edit becomes a version with an author and notes. Rollback is one click, and one-click templates pre-fill the signers.

Native .docx editing

Edit the Word file inside Docshark. Field anchors survive the PDF conversion at send time.

Negotiation rounds

Counter-proposals live on the envelope with verified accepts and declines, not in a reply-all thread.

Approvals before send

Route internal approvers in order or in parallel. Nothing ships until the right people said so, on the record.

Send at scale

Bulk send

One template to a list of recipients, each tracked separately from queue to signed.

Power forms

Turn a template into a permanent self-service signing link. Anyone with it can start a fresh, tracked instance.

Web forms

Build a form with no code, including conditional logic. Submissions can start an envelope from a template on their own.

Your brand on the room

Remove the Docshark badge on Starter. Full logo-and-colors branding on Team and up, per link when needed.

In flight and after

Corrections, declines, and voids

Fix an in-flight envelope or end it cleanly. Signers are notified, and every action lands in the trail.

Signers attach files

Ask signers for documents as a field on the envelope: an ID, a license, a proof. Up to 25 MB each, stored with the record.

Order in the pipeline

Folders, colored tags, saved searches, team inboxes, and custom status labels like “Awaiting legal”. Every envelope stays findable.

Audited handoffs

Transfer envelope ownership (nothing moves until accepted) or sign on someone's behalf. Every handoff is attributed in the trail.

Get started
